The Hunt is developed and operated by The Hunt LLC, a Michigan-based company that brings people and local businesses together through immersive, real-world experiences built around story, discovery, and fun.
Each Hunt is a story-driven adventure played in the real world. Friends, families, couples, and teams follow clues, solve puzzles, and move from place to place as the narrative unfolds. Your phone guides you along the way, but the experience lives in the moments you share and the local businesses you discover.
We created The Hunt for two groups at once. For players, it is an easy “yes” when you want something different to do, something social, and something memorable. For local retailers, restaurants, and entertainment destinations, it is a new kind of visibility: real people walking in, engaging, and associating your location with a great time.
The experience is designed to feel immersive from start to finish, including Augmented Reality moments that bring parts of the story to life inside partner locations. It turns a visit into a scene and a storefront into part of the adventure. New Hunts are added monthly creating fresh experiences for users to enjoy all the time.
Trust matters, especially when a mobile experience is involved. The Hunt is built with respect for privacy, and we do not sell player data or share personal information with partner locations. We focus on the experience and the relationships that come from showing up in person.
The Hunt is built around strong local relationships. We work primarily with locally operated retailers, family entertainment businesses, restaurants, bars, and destination venues that benefit from real people walking through their doors and discovering them as part of a great night out with friends, family, or visitors looking for something new and memorable.
The Hunt grows city by city through local franchise operators who help onboard partner locations, support quality experiences, and build awareness in their communities. We are actively accepting applications from people who want to help bring The Hunt to new cities and play a hands-on role in growing a locally focused experience business.
For players, The Hunt app is free to download and play. As you follow the story and solve the clues, you’ll unlock great offers from local businesses that add an extra perk to the experience. It’s designed to be social and easy to jump into—whether you’re planning a night out with friends, a date, or something different to do on the weekend - while discovering new places in a new way.
